You can create a Facebook application from any shared mashup or game project.
1. Share your project. You can do this from the mashup or game designer, your projects list, or a project's details page.
2. Select the Facebook icon from the Share control.
3. Select the "Create Your Own Facebook Application" option from the list.
At this point a new window will appear that will guide you through the following steps. Keep this window open because Popfly will automatically generate some special URLs for you that you will need to supply to Facebook.
On this wiki page, some more detail is provided for each step:

here to login to Facebook. You will need to have a Facebook account in order to create a Facebook application. All applications must be added through the Facebook site. We'll try to help you out with this process!

This step is for those who have not created a Facebook application before.
First, you will need to first add the Developer application to your Facebook account. Click
to add the application.
Next, you will need to apply for an application key. Click on the
button near the top right corner to do this. (Sometimes you will see a
button instead - just click on that one if that's the case.)
3 Pick an
Application Name. You will also need to read and agree to the terms of the Facebook Platform.
Next, expand
Optional Fields, then make the following changes:
| Callback URL | Type the URL that is given to you in the pop-up guide. |
| Canvas Page URL | Type a unique name. You'll see Available when you've found a name that works. |
| Can your application be added on Facebook? | Yes |
| Who can add your application to their Facebook account? | Users and All pages |
| Post-Add URL | Type the same URL you chose for Canvas Page URL (including the http://apps.facebook.com/ prefix). It doesn't matter if you put the '/' at the end of the URL. |
| Application Description | Type a nice description. |
4. Click
Submit.
5. Click View About Page link on the right side of your Application page.
Next, click the
button, which is located near the top right corner of the page.
Finally, click the
button to finish adding your application to your profile page. Deselect any of the options that you don't want enabled.
The following steps are optional, but will help you with creating a more polished Facebook application:
6. In this step you are given a special URL on Popfly where you can quickly customize your application's appearance on a profile page. To change the generic image in your application's profile box, upload a square image (ideally 250px by 250px) called
preview.jpg into your project. (You can also do this is the Game area of the Popfly Game Creator.)
7. There are further customizations that you can do to your Facebook application:

Add an icon - Your application's icon is displayed in the left menu of Facebook if the application has been added in the user's profile. See the note below for how to return to the
Edit Settings page for your application.
Look for the link to upload an icon on the settings page. You can upload a JPG, GIF or PNG file. If the file is not a 16x16 GIF, it will be resized and converted.

Improve your application's About Page - To access your application's about page, follow the steps in the note below, but instead of clicking on the
Edit Settings link, click on the
Edit About Page. Your application's about page is where other users can learn more about your application, discuss and review it, and leave messages on the wall. By providing more application information (categorize the application or even add a photo and description) users can better decide if they want to install it.

List your application on the application directory - Once your application has five users, it can be added to the directory, so other Facebook users can find your application in a search. How do you get those first five users? Invite your friends! To submit your application added to the directory you will need to go to your
My Applications page, and near the top of the page click on the
submit link.

Advertise your application - If you really want to reach a large audience, you can target ads to a specific set of users in Facebook. To start advertising, select the
Advertise link from your
My Applications page.
Note: To find your Facebook application to edit the information you provided in step 3, go to your list of Facebook applications and click on the
Developer application. From this page there are links in the top right corner for each of your applications. Click on the name of your application to view your "My Applications" page. (Or navigate directly to:
http://www.facebook.com/developers/apps.php) To edit an application's settings, click on the
Edit Settings link to edit the information you provided in step 3.
